100,000 Iraqi civilians dead, says study

10/29/04 "The Guardian" -- About 100,000 Iraqi civilians - half of them women and children - have died in Iraq since the invasion, mostly as a result of airstrikes by coalition forces, according to the first reliable study of the death toll from Iraqi and US public health experts. The study, which was carried out in 33 randomly-chosen neighbourhoods of Iraq representative of the entire population, shows that violence is now the leading cause of death in Iraq. Before the invasion, most people died of heart attacks, stroke and chronic illness. The risk of a violent death is now 58 times higher than it was before the invasion.

BLACK PAYOLA AND BLACK ENDORSEMENTS OF OPPRESSIVE ISSUES!!!

In every political season it becomes clearer that Blacks in particular are used as cheap paid supporters of most any political regardless of how much it hurts other Blacks. Presently, this question of what is being a Professional in Public Relations, who’s job is to packages any person good or bad for the best public acceptability (even a low life of a person) as compared to persons who have the guide of the integrity and ethics such as a Journalist or Community Leader or Clergy of a congregation, who should have the “good” of the group as their mission. But we see Blacks, who sell themselves as a “Hired Gun” using their integrity, soul, and conscience as a commodity open for any position.

The mystery as to why a Talk Show Host such as Armstrong Williams, a Journalist such as Roosevelt Wilson writer of Column, “AGAINST THE GRAIN “ are both taking positions solidly for G. W. and the Interim President of FAMU respectively is de-mystified when we recognize that both of these people are alleged to have been paid for their services. The primary problem here besides the negative propaganda they provided is that there was no indication or “foot note” to let the public know the status of their presentations by declaring who is sponsoring their advertisements and is it the Journalist talking or the PR speaking? Further, is $250,000.00 (as alleged to have been paid to Williams) adequate pay for their services or is $3,000.00 per month (as alleged to have been paid to Wilson) a fair rate? Which is payola and which is a consultants pay? I hasten to add that a Journalist can also be a “good” PR person only when their presentations are clarified by the foot note declaring the sponsor(s)!

Further, how do we look at the support for pay given the G. W. and Jeb Bush position to destroy Affirmative Action and support Voucher Schools by projected Black Leader Dr. D. C. Miller then head of FBRC of Florida. Was this again payola and the sell of Perceived Black leadership or the questionable act of “the-price-is-right” and my conscience and my morals are not that important?

Then there are the acts of General Colin Powell and Condi Rice as they took the position of sell the lies that the President used to go to war with Iraq. In addition, there is Supreme Court Judge “Uncle” Clarence Thomas, who said that Affirmative Action was not good fore Blacks attended Yale on the Affirmative Action Mandate. Were these payolas or the act of a Tom that hurt Americans in general and Blacks in particular?

These are important and critical questions that must be answered before the election 2006 season. Believe me my fellow Americans there are lines of Black standing ready to sell their souls in support of any and all oppressive appositions and oppressive people-for money that is. If Blacks do not understand what they are getting from their “front-of-camera-people” they will be lead down the garden path to destruction again!

In fact if any person would take a position against G. W. or Bryant, Armstrong or Wilson would quickly make an attack in defense of their respective sponsors. A personal attack would be lunched on any FAMUan, who chose to question any actions and or decisions made by our appointed President. There is nothing wrong with being a “Hired Gun” if you can live with any violation of your conscience or integrity as a person. There is nothing too wrong if a “Journalist” chooses to step down from his strict codes of ethics of a journalist and become a PR person. But why take “Payola” and make it any dirtier business than making a politician is already!!

Now this is good that Black firms and individuals are providing services to an institution. But the twist here is where does the position of a “Journalist” and the “Commitments” of a PR contract conflict. For a journalist the public trust has the habit of conflicting with the activities of a person performing public relations for money. The column that a “Journalist” may write is subject to certain codes of conduct and ethics. These ethics protect and preserve the Constitutional Right of free speech in America. So I am told. When Armstrong Williams was alleged to have been taking Pay for the positions he was taking on issues that G. W. was pursuing he was accused of taking “Payola” This was because he was not being up front with his change from a “Journalist” to a Public Relation “Hired Gin” When he decided to take a position and deliberately tell promote a position not necessarily the truth without identifying his changed role he was taking Payola and not a Journalist. He knowingly supported a lie.

For Journalist and PR people there are at least two types of lies to consider. The “Black lie” such as “there is no racism in America” is used by Presidents and Black (Uncle) Toms. The Black (Bald Face, G. D.) lie is the worst and the worst of the worst is the Black lie when used by Blacks! The “white lie” such as “Blondes have more fun” and “white men are superior to all” is considered the lesser lie and is used by innocent little children and some do-gooders trying . . er . . to do good. .

The “Hired Guns” of politicians should not be unhappy or ashamed or angry when the fact that they are being paid to take a position. All but publican positional ads have the requirement to show their sponsors. This should be the same for the individuals who chose to sell their integrity, repetition and soul for taking a position in public for pay.

RELIGION AND SCIENCE CAN EXIST ONLY AS BEING MUTURALLY EXCLUSIVE-INTELLIGENT ALTERNATIVES CANNOT FOOL MOTHER NATURE’S SCIENCE!!

A critical question in American has finally come home to roost! Is it possible for the two fundamental institutions of religion and the science of pragmatic reasoning to exist side by side?

Religion is an institution which addresses the philological values of human kind as they try to live together and science is the institution of using logic based in measurable. pragmatic, imperial, tangetable information to understand the logical natural world--which could very well be the natural world of God. The understanding that these two institutions can stand side by side without conflict only when the dogma of a religion dose not try to substitute its parables and similes unnecessarily into the pursuit of understandings through logical scientific procedures. Believe me, a minister or preacher is no where close to being an accomplished enlightened scientist!

In religion the believer is demanded to accept things from feelings and the presentations of a some times ignorant uneducated fanatic with personal objectives and a belief driven home with the fear of damnation and excommunication. This is a vicious highly effective and useful tool to subdue a congregation with having them spend time in any mental exercise in understanding the natural universe which just maybe to complicated for present day knowledge.

This is where we are today as “Organized Religion” tries to force its dogma onto the stage of science. The monkey trials and “Reap the wild wind” is being played over again Institutions sometimes an best stand when they do not attempt to invade and substitute its ignorance into another. This ugly confrontati0on has reared its ugly again today as seen in the article, “Senator to Cut Ties Over Evolution Lawsuit , By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS (December 23, 2005), which stated in part, Senator Rick Santorum plans to withdraw his affiliation with the Thomas More Law Center, which had defended the teaching of intelligent design in science classes dealing with evolution“

For example today we see a classic example where religion of Islam try to invade the institution of politics and government in the middle east. In America the institution of Christian religion is trying to invade the domain of government through the administrative regime of the criminal machine of Republicans. The intensity of this exercise is exacerbated by the tendency of the Republican-Far-Right to use any means necessary to accomplish it goals-to weaken the fragile constructs of the US Constitution and make the New World Order of Corporate World Domination a reality! (We then must pledge allegiance to the power corporations of the world and to the money for which they stands, corporations under GREED with liberty and justice for some and money for the very few!!)

Although Karl Rove and his criminal associates made a brilliant call by setting up the physical battle field for this Terrorist War on the soil of Iraq in stead of the US, the G. W. level pulled the most ignorant act by providing the “Religious Far-Right” Preachers a toe hole at the Federal Public Coffers through the “Faith Based Initiative” funding. Now these Pompous ministers as Jerry Farwell, the religious megla maniacs as the 700 Pat Roberts and the Firey mesmerizing voice of The Most Reverend “Billy” Graham will use the battle ground of the Federal Government to wage their religious wars/crusades using their already immense financial machines. And if they wish Bush can never beat them. He cannot make a oresentation equal to the caliber of these professional charlatins Bible thumpers!

It is not difficult to see that the conflict between the institution of Organized Religion and other institutions is for money and power. Is it logical for a church to own vast wealth and provide its leader with compensation of sometime millions of dollars or salaries ten time that of its congregation (C-Span, Saturday, December 24, 2005). How much Thight can be expected from the poor for the expensive life styles of the Minister? (Good Question!!)

NEW ORLEANS MAYOR ELECTION 2006 A LANDMARK IN ELECTION HISTORY!!!

And away we go again!!!

In addition to the two primary questions left after the hurricane Katrina disaster in New Orleans, 1) What will it cost to rebuild New Orleans and 2) If New Orleans should be rebuilt at all where it was before the tragedy, there is a third question.

The present Political Leadership is up for re-election now. But the voting citizens of his city are now referees and reside in many states and many quarters. To compound this bad situation, the past voters for this Black mayor are disproportion ally those who are still displaced! Truly the Black and the poor are no longer in the state or the city. Now don’t you think for a moment that Karl Rove and the G. W. Criminal party don’t know this and have already planed for such an eventually.

But there is a way to get these displaced New Orleans votes to cast their votes even now. This is the time to put the “Absentee Ballot” to its supreme test. Yes, all these agencies that are helping to relocate these unfortunate New Orleans citizens and voters have their data list for those they have so ably helped. A duly sworn organization of deputies can be trained and dispatched to all areas of the nation to get these “Absentee Ballots” cast!!! The New Orleans citizens who have been allowed to move back into the city are probably those of means and are mainly non Black and non poor voters. These are the Republican voters. This situation is further compounded and complicated by the “ism” of racism. Although the present mayor is a Democrat he is certainly Black. The Democratic party may have the tendency to only half heartily support all the unusual tactics needed to win this unusual election “Cajon” style. If the Democratic party give the mayor verbal help and never take this hands out of their money pockets we all shall know where they are. Rac-ism--ism---ism----ism-----ism!!!

You may be inclined to say that only a sick mind could think such a thing as described here. But you must realize that this is a sick nation and this is a sick situation and the Republican and Democratic Parties are a sick group of opposing organizations!!!

ELECTION 2006 THE YEAR OF REDEMPTION-MAYBE!!!

And away we go!! The off election year 2006 is here and the vultures are swooping down to peck clean the bones of American voters again. But there will be no fair elections if there is no election reforms that remove the “DeiBold” voter-rip-off, “ we fix it like you want it,” machines and the processes by which the counting of votes is presently conducted. . Further, the intense magnificent right and left wing propaganda machines that can and do make a leader out of an empty suit must be reined in to at least have some control on what is truth and what that is classic Hollywood showmanship.

For Blacks this is a most important problem. The oppressors both left an right wing have found that Blacks can be paid although very little to say any thing regardless of the fact that it hurts their own kind. The money people have found that every man has their price and Blacks prices are a bargain basement level. The past payola Uncle Toms have come to us in the persons of Clarence Thomas, Armstrong Williams, General Colin Powell, Dr. Dorsey Miller, Condoleezza Rice, Rod Paige, Interim FAMU President Bruant, many Black preachers, etc. But it will be easy to identify these Black “Hired Guns” by the issues they all publicly support for pay-- Anti Affirmative Action, Anti Voting Rights, School Vouchers, Private-for-profit-jails, The death penalty, Immigration of poor Mexicans to be used as virtual slaves without protection and low wages. ,

In addition, a most important vehicle for the truth in news is the “Black Press,” such as the local Black New Papers like Westside Gazette, Daytona Times, Miami Times, Pensacola Voice, Amsterdam News, Gantt Report, http://FranklySpeaking.info , etc. These have been a solid source of good information for both the Black and white community. This must continue be the mission of the Black press in general along with Black writers such as Bobby Henry, Tom Joyner, George Curry, Carnell West, Jessee Jackson, Pitts, DeWyane Wickham, USA Today, Earl Ofari Hutchinson , Jan Resseger WILBERT A. TATUM, Lara Jakes, Jordan. Hazel Trice Edney, James Clingman, Mary Denson, Kevin Martin, Marian Wright Edelman, etc.

You may wonder why the Black News Papers have not knuckled under to the pressures of the propaganda machine of the traditional US press. The answer is simple. It is because the advertisers have not seen it necessary to do advertisement with the Black Press. This is both a blessing and a tragedy. These ads could enhance the circulation of the Black News Papers and on the other hand these funds could force the Black press to become a part of the lie as you go, go as you lie, press seen today. So you see the Black Press has the Moral high ground mostly to them selves. They can get to heaven by default if they so desire.

Nothing made the condition in America so clear as the beautiful little old, Hazel eyed Black lady victim of the hurricane Katrina as she testified before Congress this past week (CNN, December 2005). She said that the only thing we as American and New Orleans citizens have to fear is the “isims” that American Propaganda has sold to us- the sexism, sectionalism, racism and the most vicious “ism” of them all the . . . “Capitalism,” She continued by saying in essence that, “ After the two big explosions, the levy broke and the water rose, they tried to force me to leave and go to the concentration center, the super dome, the only home my family has known for hundreds of years. And what for? If things were so bad that the place could not be rebuilt then why were the money men buying up the property that was still under water while my house was on dry ground. Well they are intending to move all this property from the ownership of us Black Americans and the Government is supporting their greedy ambitions!!! “

PAUSE FOR A THREE LINE HISTORY: “The New Orleans Bowel Bottoms were the swamp land where Black slaves, Po whites, Indians, society cast-offs were allowed to live. The land was a waist high swamp of crocodiles, poisonous snakes, Cray fish, turtles, rats as big as opossums, opossums, wild rice and etc.. The unfortunate inhabitants who were forced to live there took their environment and made Jambalaya and Red Beans and rice, and the magnificent music of the suffering population-Mardi Gras and bourbon street blues!!“

What really made this remarkable aside form the facts presented was that the concept of Capitalism was pulled apart from American Democracy as a stand alone label You see Conservatives have taken great time and effort to define the forms of governments that are attached to nations good or bad. The “isms” associated with being a traitor and unpatriotic are Commun(ism), Social(ism), Budd(ism), Liberal(ism) etc. You see there are really many types of Democratic governments-Democratic Socialism, Democratic Communism, Democratic Capitalism But being intelligent but naive the lady told the truth. It was so beautiful!!! All loyal Americans should kiss her Black ass for giving us truth in all these lies.

For all Blacks and progressives, here a great opportunity at this time in American history and specifically during this election 2006. Both parties have left the “Moral” high ground vacant. Most have accepted the competition for the middle and being close to the Right-Wing conservative bottom feeders. But we must recognize that we see that all people have their price and the money people will provide any amount to get you to go where they are going. Greed, profiting, evil, criminal, out-side-the-box CEOs and criminal politicians are ready to execute their plans to make money using the wicked stick to in the and enslave the whole world. Simply speaking that is the New World Order we hear so much about.

The powerful ocean current that bathes Britain and northern Europe in warm waters from the tropics has weakened dramatically in recent years, a consequence of global warming that could trigger more severe winters and cooler summers across the region, scientists warn today.

Researchers on a scientific expedition in the Atlantic Ocean measured the strength of the current between Africa and the east coast of America and found that the circulation has slowed by 30% since a previous expedition 12 years ago.

MEDICARE PART "D" DRUG PROGRAM A BUYERS-BE-WARE EXERCISE!!!

G . W. has given us the federal drug plan or Medicare Part D as his answer to assistance us in paying for needed live enhancing prescriptions. Have you been getting mountains of advertising from our pharmaceutical Industry trying to get us signed up with their plan which is approved by the government and the best around. Well, I have. I do not really know where they have gotten my records and c can be so pr

ecise about my needs?
    It is the problem of the American public to root out which of these pharmaceuticals plans are legitimate and which are just another public rip off! The TV and mails are saturated with propaganda tearing at the minds and pocket books of the people. It is a free for all and let the buyer be ware atmosphere. Try to find some agency to get an unbiased opinion on the choice that is good, better or best. Try AARP for example. I did try and found that even AARP has a dog (pharmaceuticals Company) in the hunt.
     AARP’s article entitled "Drug Companies Spending Million on Advertising " provides you a glimpse on the extreme efforts companies are working to get your Medicare Part D business. When it states in part, "Pharmaceutical companies are allocating more and more of their budgets to advertising direct to consumers. . . . AARP has been tracking just how much companies have been spending on advertising to the public with a special focus on the medications most used by older people. What the tracking found was that drug companies are spending astronomical amounts on "educating" consumers. AARP's drug pricing study found dramatic increases in prices for some of the same drugs that are being advertised at great cost. "
     Pardon me a moment. I have another call on the phone. "(me) Hello, . . . (Caller a Indian from India voice) Yes, this is Jim Scruets …(Me) really no, this is Dr. S-C-R-U-G-G-S . . . (Caller) Well, I know that you have chosen to sign up, therefore, (w)ve are sending you a contract today. . . Please return it as soon as you get it . . . Are there any further questions . . . You have made a smart move. . . (Me) How did you get my name And how do you know so much about me???. . . (Caller) This is our job. . . . (W)Ve have your records so (w)ve can serve best. . ." Pressure-tension-pain-worry-hassle!!!
     What is the answer to getting your drug plan started? It is hard to tell. The Federal Government has a web site which is intended to solve this problem-http://www.medicaredurg.com. Or   www.cms.hhs. gov    Part D Prescription Drug plans.
     Terry Savage, Sun-Times Columnist writes, "The official launch of the program is this week, as various health insurers start sending out information about their plans. You can sign up for a plan starting Nov. 15, and you can start using it Jan. 1. But you have until next May 15 to sign up for a plan without penalty. So take your time. You're probably aware that the government came up with a complicated

requirement for basic Medicare Part D coverage. But since private companies are selling the plans, each has been working on ways to simplify the structure and price their plans . . . The government has inspected and approved every plan being offered . . . . In fact, the average plan (at most pharmacies) covers 89 of the top 100 drugs taken by seniors, both generic and brand-name drugs. . . . . And most plans don't price the drugs individually because comparisons would be a nightmare. Instead, they have flat CO-payments for branded or generic drugs. . . . . The Medicare Part D plan offerings are almost guaranteed to make for confusion in the minds of seniors who now must choose a drug plan. "
Here again, when fellow American in general have it bad Blacks have a disaster. This past week when being interviewed by a representative of an agency delivering services to the elderly (e. g. assisted home living, meals on wheels, etc., ) the agent warned me that the medical Part D drug program was deliberately made confusing and complicated to capture prices from the confused public in a buyer-be-ware type of market place. They, as well as other agencies that could operate as of prey. (Birds of prey). For an example, the distribution of process from a particular drug can be seen by going to the world wide web. Florida's Attorney General's Office provides citizens through their web site the best places to purchase medicines in their area. She said that Blacks do not as a rule have the resources to get good information (e. g. Computers, etc.)
G. W. has pimped out fellow Americans again. But let hasten to add that there is presently little indication that Democrats would do any different. The moral high ground is still empty!
